By downloading or using Same Place ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Use (the "Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the app. Same Place is an independent app that compares photo metadata between two paired devices to reveal where their paths crossed.
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use Same Place on Apple devices that you own or control, in accordance with the Apple Media Services Terms and these Terms.
Same Place only compares your photo metadata with someone who has accepted your invite from their own device. By sharing an invite link you confirm that you intend to compare timelines with that person. Do not use the app to monitor, track, or profile anyone without their knowledge and agreement. Accounts or pairs used for that purpose may be removed.
You agree not to use Same Place to stalk, harass, intimidate, or surveil another person, to infringe anyone's rights, or for any unlawful purpose. We may restrict access for violations.
Your photos stay on your device. The app uploads only the places and times of your photos to our servers, which compute the crossings between you and the person you are connected to. That person never receives your places and times: they only receive the crossings. You remain the owner of your photos and of the data they contain.
Matches are inferred from photo metadata, which can be missing, approximate, or wrong. Same Place makes no claim that a match reflects a real-world encounter, and results should be read as a story rather than as evidence.
The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Same Place and its developer are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.
We may update these Terms. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
